MISSION STATEMENT

The Caldwell Theatre Company’s mission is to explore timeless and current human issues through the art of theater, and to provide a creative and caring artistic home for artists, staff, students and audiences of all ages.  The Caldwell continues to provide an environment where imaginations soar -- and professional theater thrives.  We improve the quality of life for our community as we:

1.  initiate, develop and create new works at this theater;

2.  produce the latest contemporary works by national and international playwrights; and preserve traditional, classic and period plays through revivals, paying careful attention to production details;

3.  encourage new playwrights through our New Play Reading Series, and give additional performance opportunities to professional artists;

4.  reach out to the community through educational programs including our Storytelling Series and cooperative ventures with other community organizations;          

5.  assume a leadership role in creating and fostering partnerships with other community and business organizations;

6.  make Caldwell programs and events accessible to a diverse audience; and

7.  plan and build a state-of-the-art permanent theater facility.
